Beliefs
A collection of the ideas that have shaped my life and career. These are my most important notes-to-self, and I revisit them regularly.
Finish things
“Ship the smallest functional unit, create fast feedback loops, and build a stubborn, pig-headed instinct to clear your plate before moving on to anything else.”
Collect failure
“It’s easier to become great at something by collecting failures than it is by trying to collect successes.”
Do it scared
“Fear doesn’t need to be a barrier. You can confront something terrifying, feel a great cresting wave of panic wash over you, and say with equanimity: ‘I feel scared. I guess I’ll just do it scared.’”
Marketing is repetition
“Once you have a good idea, shift gears towards repeating that same core idea through as many mediums and framings as possible.”
Marketing is novelty
“The primary goal of the marketer is to earn attention for their brand by doing noteworthy, original, and unexpected things, creating a continuous stream of reasons for other people to think about you.”
